Some believers have pre-conceived ideas surrounding the “Day of the Lord” mentioned in the Bible. Others have no conceived ideas about it. Jeremy tries to lay a Biblical case for the what the Day of the Lord is and isn’t and what our response should be in light of what it is.

COMMON ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT THE TIMING & NATURE OF THE DAY OF THE LORD

  1. The Day of the Lord happened in 70AD when God ‘judged Israel’
  2. Jesus absorbed the Day of the Lord
  3. It’s a metaphor- It’s all figurative language of God’s annihilation of the wicked

COMMON PRESUMPTIONS - DAY OF THE LORD AMONG BELIEVERS

COMMON PRESUMPTIONS REGARDING THE DAY OF THE LORD AMONG BELIEVERS

  1. Believers don’t need to be in preparation for it- Luke 12:35-48
  2. Believers don’t need to repent- Matthew 5:5, 2 Corinthians 7:9, James 4:4-10

DAY OF THE LORD IN FULL MAGNITUDE

SEEING THE DAY OF THE LORD IN IT’S FULL MAGNITUDE

  1. It will end all war- Isaiah 2:4(James 4:1-2)
  2. Political agendas will be exposed and brought low- Isaiah 2:10-22
  3. It will reveal the source of our boasting laying low all self-righteousness- Isaiah 13:6-13, Jeremiah 9:21-25, 1 Corinthians 4:1-5 ‘human day’
  4. Greed will be exposed for the idolatry it truly is- Zephaniah 1:14-18, Proverbs 11:4, Colossians 3:5-6, Ephesians 5:3-6
