Melchizedek Seminar – Part 3
Having explored in Parts 1 and 2 the core assumptions and storyline presupposed by the teaching about Melchizedek in the New Testament, in this session we turn our attention to what Jesus’ priesthood actually means for us. In this age, we are afflicted, assaulted, and tormented by fallen cosmic powers that are in a place of governmental authority greater than that of human beings, but inferior to that of Yahweh the One true Creator. God Himself took on human flesh and experienced temptation through those fallen powers to the fullest – and stood firm through the afflictions. Once raised from the dead, the Son ascended to the Father’s right hand, far above the powers (His rightful place) that had afflicted and tempted Him during His time in a body of death. Consequently, we have a great high priest who both understands our weakness and struggle in the face of being assaulted by those same powers, but who also has the power and know-how to see us through our greatest trials. Join us in this session as we boast in the power of Melchizedek’s priesthood to faithfully see us through the trials of this age.
