The apostles emphasized the creational foundation of redemptive history (Rom. 5; 1 Cor. 15), God’s continued covenantal dealings with the Jewish people (Acts 1:6; Rom. 11), the cruciform (“cross-shaped”) nature of both God and this age (Rom. 5:8; Heb. 9:28), the gift of the Holy Spirit con-firming the path to eternal life (Acts 2:38; Tit. 3:5), and the apocalyptic conclusion of history at the day of the Lord when God will restore all things and make a new heavens and new earth (Acts 3:21; 2 Peter 3).
