Watch And Pray

Watch And Pray

Written by Henry and Aneliz Bruno, Nance Cogshall, and Tim and Emily Miller

This song was written during a season when the Lord was teaching us about the necessity of pressing into His heart and promises through fervent prayer as we undergo trial, testing, and pruning. When tested by the trials of this dark age, it is in the place of watchful prayer where we are strengthened to press on toward the prize. Watch and Pray is part of the One Hope One Boast album.

Watch And Pray

Gen. 4:7; Mt. 16:24, 26:41; Rom. 8:26, 34; 1 Cor. 15:1; 2 Cor. 12:9; Eph. 6; Heb. 2:14-18, 7

Sin is crouching at my door, its desire is to have me

The powers of this evil age day and night, they assault me

But I have an intercessor at the Father’s right hand

So in the gospel of Messiah we take our stand!

So we watch, and we pray

That we might not fall into temptation

When the flesh is raging strong, I’ll choose the path of self-denial

The power of the Holy Spirit will see me through this trial

Cause I have a priest who knows my weakness at the Father’s right hand

So by the power of His prayers, we take our stand!

We hear Your call to Gethsemane

The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak

But Your grace is sufficient, Your grace is enough
