The “Lord’s Prayer” is a “maranatha cry,” for the God of Israel to fulfill His covenant promises to His people and bring about His redemptive purposes for the heavens and the earth. This teaching explores, phrase by phrase, the covenantal background of this prayer that embodies and exemplifies the very faith of the Hebrew Scriptures. As believers in the promises of God, whether Jew or Gentile, we would do well to orient our heart and prayers in this same manner as we await the blessed hope.
