Continuing the series of episodes about Israel in this third episode will talk about the knowledge of God, Jesus and the gospel in relation to the election and called the Jewish people. To start talk about the identity of the Lord as the God of Israel, then about Jesus the Jewish Messiah in the same God who became flesh forever, and finally talk about the Gospel announcing the salvation and restoration of the Kingdom of Israel and Consequently the salvation of the whole world.
A. The creator of heaven and earth, the sovereign Lord over all creation, God is the God of Israel. The God who has always existed and will always exist has revealed His glory and His ways through His covenants and His history with that nation. From the call of Abraham, and continuing with the great salvation of the exodus, the expulsion of the nations of Canaan, the establishment of the kingdom of Israel, judgment and discipline of Jacob in exile until birth, life, death and resurrection of the Messiah Jesus, along with the commission of the Jewish apostles to the Gentiles, the Lord has shown His great power by showing love-loyal and faithful to His chosen people. His identity as God is completely intertwined with that nation about which “is invoked the name of the Lord” (Deut. 28: 9-10). So the God we worship believers in Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, Honduras, China, Iran, Morocco and elsewhere gentle country, that God is the God of Israel, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus the Messiah.
B. listen to the testimony of Scripture about this:

I know the Lord, and also will not let Israel go. ” 3 “The God of the Hebrews has met with us,” they answered. “Let us go, please, three days’ journey into the desert to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God, lest he fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword.”
Judges 5: 3-5 3 Hear, kings; give ear, princes! I the Lord, I will sing, I will sing praises to the Lord God of Israel. 4 Lord, when you went out of Seir, When You marched from the field of Edom, the earth trembled, also dripped the sky, the clouds distilled water. 5 The mountains they quaked at the presence of the Lord, even Sinai, at the presence of the Lord God of Israel.
2 Kings 19:15 15 And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and said, “O Lord, God of Israel, who are enthroned above the cherubim, you alone are God of all the kingdoms of the earth. Thou hast made heaven and earth.

1 Chronicles 29: 10-13, 18 10 And David blessed the Lord before all the congregation and said, “Blessed art thou, O Lord, God of Israel, our father for ever and ever. 11 “belongs to you, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and on earth; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You exalt as head over all. 12 “To You come wealth and honor; You reign over all and in Your hand is power and might; and in your hand is great and to give strength to all. 13 “Now therefore, our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious name. […] 18 “O Lord, God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Israel, preserve this forever in the intentions of the heart of Your people, and direct their heart to You.

Gen. 12, 15 and 17) .
A. Not only God’s identity is deeply intertwined with the election and the call of the people of Israel, but the identity of Jesus as Christ or Messiah does not make any sense apart from that election and calling. Messiah is the nickname or surname of Jesus but the government title belongs only to Him as Son of David and King of Israel. Jesus waits patiently until the day his day, when all His enemies be made a footstool for his feet. The great Day when it will be restored to the throne and kingdom of their Father David from Zion (Jerusalem) exercise dominion and inherit all nations of the earth.
2 Samuel 7: 8-16 8 “Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts.” I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people Israel 9 “And I’ve been with you wherever you went and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and I will make you a great name as the name of the great ones of the earth. 10 “will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant it there so that they may dwell in their own place and be disturbed again, nor the wicked afflict them any more as before, 11 from the day that I commanded judges over my people Israel. To you I will give you rest from all your enemies. The Lord also lets you know that the Lord will build you a house. 12 “When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, raise up your offspring after you, who will come from you, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 “The will build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14 “I will be a father to him and he will be my son. When he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the children of men, 15 but My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you. 16 “Your house and your kingdom shall be always before me; your throne shall be established forever. “
Jeremiah 33: 14-18 14 “The days are coming, ‘declares the Lord,’ when I will fulfill the promise I made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah. 15 ‘In those days and at that time I will raise up to David a righteous Branch, and He shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. 16 ‘In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem shall dwell safely, and this is the name by which she shall be called. The Lord is our righteousness’ 17 “For says the Lord, ‘will never fail to David who will sit on the throne of the house of Israel. 18 ‘Neither the Levitical priests they may want one in my presence to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings and to prepare sacrifices every day’. “
Psalm 2 1 Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, 3 “Let us break their chains and cast their cords from us! ” 4 He who sits as King in the heavens laughs, The Lord scoffs at them. 5 Then shall he speak to them in His anger And terrify his wrath, saying, 6 “But I myself have consecrated my king upon Zion, My holy mountain. ” 7 “Certainly I will announce the decree of the Lord who said to me. ‘Thou art My Son, I have begotten 8 ‘Ask of me, and I will give the nations as inheritance yours, and as Yours possession the ends of the earth. 9 ‘You shall break them with a rod of iron; The are pieces like a potter’s vessel. ‘ ” 10 Now therefore, O kings, show discernment; Receive warning, O judges of the earth. 11 Worship the Lord with reverence, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Honor the Son to be angry and you perish because it can ignite suddenly His wrath. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him!
Psalm 72: 1-8 1 Oh God, give the king thy judgments, and thy righteousness unto the king’s son. 2 May he judge thy people with justice, and thy poor with justice. 3 Bring the mountains to the people peace, and justice the hills. 4 Make justice to the afflicted king of the people, Save the children of the poor, and crush the oppressor. 5 fear you as long as the sun and moon, through all generations. 6 Lower the king as the rain on the mown grass, As showers that water the earth. 7 the righteous flourish in his days, And abundance of peace until the moon is no. 8 May he also rule from sea to sea and from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth.
Matthew 1: 1 The book of the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, son of David, son of Abraham.
Luke 1: 30-33 30 And the angel said. “Fear not, Mary, for you have found favor with God 31 . “You will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus 32 “This He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, 33 . and reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will never end “
John 1: 47-51 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him: “There are a true Israelite in whom there is no deceit.” 48 Nathanael asked, “How do you know me?”. Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49 “Rabbi, You are the Son of God, You are the King of Israel,” said Nathanael. 50 Jesus answered: “Because I told you I saw you under the fig tree, you believe? . See greater things than these ” 51 He also said, “Truly I tell you will see the sky opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”
Romans 1: 1-4 1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, 2 . He had promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures 3 is the message about His Son who he was descended from David according to the flesh 4 and was declared Son of God with an act of power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 5: 5 Then one of the elders said to me: “Do not cry; Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book and its seven seals. “
Even more glorious and meaningful B. is the fact that the God of Israel has been embodied in the person of the Messiah of Israel, as an intensification and confirmation of the covenant with His people.
. Psalm 110 A Psalm of David 1 The Lord said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” 2 The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of . Your enemies ” 3 Your people will volunteer in the day of Your power; In the splendor of holiness, from the womb of the morning; Your youth are to You as the dew. 4 The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: “You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.” 5 The Lord at thy right hand; . Shall execute kings in the day of His wrath 6 He shall judge among the nations, heaping up the dead bodies, it shall execute the heads of many countries. 7 The drink of the brook in the way; Therefore he lifted his head.
Matthew 22: 41-46 41 While the Pharisees gathered together, Jesus asked them a question: 42 “What is you opinion about the Christ? ?. Whose son “” son of David, “they answered them 43 Jesus said to them, “Then how does David in spirit call him ‘Lord,’ saying, 44 ‘The Lord said to my Lord: ” Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet “‘? 45 “For if David calls him ‘Lord,’ how is he his son?” 46 No one could answer him a word, nor any from that day dared to ask more questions to Jesus.
Mark 4: 39-41 39 Jesus got up, rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 He said to them: “Why are you afraid? How can we not have faith? ” 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, “Who then is this, that even wind and sea obey him?”
Psalm 107: 24-30 24 They have seen the works of the Lord and his wonders in the deep. 25 For He spoke and raised up a stormy wind, which curled the waves of the sea. 26 They went up to the heavens, descended to the depths of their souls consumed by evil. 27 They reeled and staggered like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end. 28 In their distress they cried to the Lord, and he brought them out of their distresses. 29 He stilled the storm to a whisper and the waves subsided. 30 Then they were glad, because the waves were stilled, and he guided them to their desired haven.
John 1: 1-3 1 In the beginning was the Word (Word) , and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing that has been done, was done. […] 14 The Word (The Word) became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Colossians 1: 16-17 16 For by him were created all things, both in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible; whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities; all things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is (has been) before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
C. Listen to this great quote from my friend Jacob Stone about the incarnation:
“Having said that, we must also realize that today the doctrine of the incarnation, as it is commonly discussed in the context of the” global mission “and other missionary circles, is almost entirely covered with a” supersessionist paradigm “(theology Replacement), regardless called continuous choice of Israel. The incarnation of the eternal Son of God has been considered out of its biblical context of covenant promises made to a specific chosen people who are descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and who have been called to be a “blessing to all families . of the earth “Truly, this is the hope of the gospel as proclaimed by the Apostle Paul (see Acts 28:20;. Rom 11:12. 15).
If we are to take into account the doctrine of the incarnation of the Son of God as being eternally in Jewish flesh (according to the testimony of Scripture), specifically as the “son of Abraham” and the “son of David” concerning the eternal covenant ( see Matt. 1: 1; Rom. 1: 3), not supposed to be understood as a type of “validation” of all human cultures, but rather as a confirmation, affirmation and everlasting establishment of God’s promises made Israel (see Acts 13: 32-33; Rom. 15: 8.).
God became incarnate in order to affirm the certainty of guaranteed future promises to Israel. God would not fulfill His covenant if it does not become the covenant people, a Jewish descendant of Abraham and David! The incarnation speaks of God’s faithfulness to fulfill His promises to the people (Israel) which then become for all nations and peoples in an eschatological blessing of God and culminantemente (see Isa. 2; Mic. 4)!
The incarnation should be seen as an intensification of God’s commitment regarding the election of Israel. God is not only in Israel but Israel becomes! We have forgotten that our Lord Jesus is a Jew forever. Not only in his first coming and not only during the millennial kingdom forever but as a blessing for all nations.
What does the incarnation for nations and world missions? It means that nations must become “the hope of Israel” (see Acts. 28:20). As Paul said in Romans 11:12 and 15, “And if their transgression (of Israel) is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fullness! […] For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? “
A. First of all I have said is evident what is the gospel. They are that good news about God’s faithfulness to the covenants of Israel, announcing the great salvation that God made to resurrect from the dead, gather the ends of the earth and restore the kingdom in Jerusalem by which they will be blessed all nations and will set a new heaven and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Isaiah 40: 1-11 1 “Comfort, comfort my people (the gospel) , “says your God. 2 “Speak tenderly to Jerusalem And tell her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity has been removed, which has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins. ” 3 A voice cries: “In the desert prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert a highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill; . Turn plain the rugged terrain, and the abrupt, wide valley in May . Then it will be revealed the glory of the Lord, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken ” 6 A voice said. “Cry” Then he he replied: “What shall I cry?” All flesh is as grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field. 7 The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of the Lord blows upon it; Surely the people are grass. 8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever. 9 Hop on a high mountain, O Zion, bearer of good news. Lift up your voice, O Jerusalem, herald of good news; Lift it up, fear not. Tell the cities of Judah: “Here is your God.” 10 See, the Lord God will come with might, and his arm ruling for Him With His reward is, and his reward before Him.. 11 feed his flock like a shepherd: , In His arm He will gather the lambs And carry them in his bosom; He carefully guide the young.
Isaiah 43: 1-7 1 But now, thus says the Lord your Maker, O Jacob, and he that formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed thee, I have called you by your name; You are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, do not cover. When you walk through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; the flame burn you. 3 For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I have given Egypt as your ransom, Cush (Ethiopia) and Seba in your place. 4 Since you are precious in my eyes, worthy of honor, and I love you, I will give other men in your place, and other peoples your life. 5 Fear not, for I am with you; The east will bring your children and west will gather. 6 I will say to the north, “Give them up” and to the south. “Keep not back” Bring My sons from afar And My daughters from the ends of the earth, 7 A everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I have formed who have. “
Jeremiah 30: 8-12 8 “In that day, ‘says the Lord of hosts,’ I will break the yoke from your neck and will burst their bonds, and strangers shall no more enslave, 9 But they shall serve the Lord their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them. 10 ‘So you do not be afraid, Jacob, my servant,’ declares the Lord, ‘nor be dismayed, O Israel; For I will save you from afar, And thy seed from the land of their captivity. . And Jacob will return and be quiet and safe, and none shall make him afraid 11 ‘For I am with you,’ declares the Lord, ‘to save you; Well, I completely destroy all the nations among which I have scattered, but not destroy you, But I will punish you fairly. No way I’ll leave you unpunished. ‘ 12 For thus saith the Lord: Incurable is your destruction, and serious your injury.
Acts 3: 12-26 12 At this, Peter said to the people: “Men of Israel, why wonder at this, or why they look so, as if by our own power or godliness we had made him walk? 13 “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to put Jesus in freedom. 14 “But you They repudiated the Holy and Righteous One and asked to be granted a murderer, 15 and killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. 16 “By faith in his name, is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know. The faith that comes through Jesus has given him this perfect soundness before you all. 17 “Now, brothers, I know I acted in ignorance, as did your rulers. 18 “But God has kept well which announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets. His Christ would suffer 19 “Therefore, repent and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of relief come from the presence of the Lord, 20 and send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you. 21 “In the heaven must receive until the restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient times. 22 ” Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up to you a prophet like me from among their brothers; El pay attention to anything you say to them. 23 “It will happen that whoever will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people. ‘ 24 “And all the prophets who have spoken since Samuel and his successors onward , also announced these days. 25 “You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham.” And in thy seed shall all the families of the earth ‘ 26 “For you in First, God, having raised up his servant, sent him to bless you, in turning away everyone of you from your iniquities. “
Acts 13: 16-41 16 Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said, “Men of Israel, and those who fear God, listen: 17 “The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people during their stay in the land of Egypt, and with a strong arm took them out of it. 18 “For a period of about forty years He put in the wilderness. 19 “After destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he distributed their land as an inheritance; all of which took about 450 years. 20 “After this, God gave them judges until the prophet Samuel. 21 “Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty . age 22 “When he took, he raised up King David, whom also testified and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my heart, who will do all My will.’ 23 “De this man’s seed, according to promise, God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, 24 after John had proclaimed before His coming, the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. 25 “When John was about finishing his course, he said: ‘Who do you think I am? I am not the Christ; but look, coming after me who I am not worthy to untie the sandals of his feet. ‘ 26 “Brothers, sons of Abraham, and whosoever among you fear God, to us is we sent the message of this salvation. 27 “For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, recognizing Jesus and the words of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them when He was convicted. 28 “Though they found no cause for killing Jesus, they asked Pilate that I send to kill. 29 “When they had fulfilled all that was written about him, they took him down from the cross and laid in a tomb. 30 “But God raised Him from the dead; 31 and for many days he appeared to those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people. 32 “We announce to you the good news of the promise made to the fathers, 33 that God has fulfilled our children by raising Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm: ‘My Son are You; Today I have begotten you. ” 34 “And as for who raised him from the dead, never to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: ‘. I will give you the holy and faithful mercies promised to David’ 35 “By Therefore He also says in another psalm, ‘You will not let your Holy One see decay.’ 36 “For David, after he had served God’s purpose in his own generation, fell asleep, and was buried with his fathers and saw corruption. 37 ” but He whom God raised did not see corruption. 38 “Therefore, brothers, know that through Him is preached to them the forgiveness of sins, 39 and all the things that could not be justified by the law of Moses , through Him everyone who believes is justified. 40 “So be careful not come upon you that which is spoken in the prophets: 41 ‘Look, scoffers, maravíllense and perish; because I work a work in your days, a work you would never believe even if someone described it. ‘ “
Romans 1: 5-6, 15-18 May is through Him we have received grace and apostleship to promote obedience to the faith among all nations for His name’s sake, 6 among whom are you also, called of Jesus Christ. […] 15 So, for my part, I am eager to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, the Jew first and also the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Romans 9: 1-5 1 I say the truth in Christ, not lying, my conscience in the Holy Spirit, 2 that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart. 3 For I could wish that I myself were anathema (cursed) , separated Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh. 4 For they are Israelites, to whom the sonship belongs, and the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship and the promises, 5 of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, is the Christ, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
