THE PURPOSE OF TORAH AS INSTRUCTION

Mt. 5:17-18 Do not think that I came to abolish the Torah or the Prophets, I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Torah until all is accomplished.

BIBLICAL ETHNICITY FROM TORAH

Gen. 9 25-27 “Cursed be Canaan; A servant of servants he shall be to his brothers.” He also said, “Blessed be YHWH, the God of Shem; and let Canaan be his servant. May God enlarge Japeth, and let him dwell in the tens of Shem; and let Canaan be his servant.”

Gen. 14:13 “…now he was living by the oaks of Mamre the Amorite (Ham’s descendants) brother of Eschol and brother of Aner, and these were allies with Abraham (lit. possessors of the covenant).

        1. Shem, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob – Lineage elected

UNDERSTANDING WHAT THE CRISIS IS FROM TORAH

    1. The Sinai Covenant (Exodus 19-24)
      1. Terms of the Covenant in Deuteronomy 28

Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the LORD your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you obey the LORD your God; Verses 3-14 (11)

But it shall come about that if you do not obey the LORD your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes with which I charge you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you; verses 15-68 (53).

    1. Torah Prophecy Concerning Israel’s Corruption
      1. Deuteronomy 4:1-40

v. 13-14 So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments…that you might perform them in the land…”

v. 15 “So watch yourselves carefully, since you did not see any form on the day the Lord spoke to you at Horeb from the midst of the fire, so that you do not act corruptly and make a graven image for yourselves in the form of any figure…

v.25-26 “When you become the father of children and children’s children and have remained long in the land, and act corruptly, and make an idol in the form of anything, and do that which is evil in the sight of the Lord so as to provoke Him to anger, I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that you will surely perish quickly from the land…

v. 30 When you are in distress and all these things have come upon you, in the latter days, you will return to the Lord your God and listen to His voice.”

v.21 “until He has consumed you; 22 until you perish; 24 until you are destroyed; 45 So all these curses shall come upon you and pursue you and overtake you until you are destroyed.”

      1. The Curses are an unbreakable Yoke upon Israel

Deut. 28:47-48 “Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and a glad heart, for the abundance of all things; therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in the lack of all things; and He will put an iron yoke on your neck until He has destroyed you.”

      1. YHWH’s determination to fulfill His word by Hiding His face

THE END OF THE AGE CRISIS FOR JEW AND GENTILE

    1. The Climax of Hatred of the Holy Covenant- From Ham to Soon
      1. The deepest issues of gentile arrogance seem to arise in the Torah. We would be deceived to believe this narrative has changed, is not in “our blood,” and/or is not currently happening throughout the earth.
        1. Romans 11:22; Zephaniah 2:10-11
        2. Gentile salvation is not what is driving the Biblical narrative! YHWH’s covenant with Israel is! Our response of humility within this covenant is direly important in regards to eternal life.
      2. Zech. 1:15
        1. The importance of being a part of the remnant among the gentiles
      3. The danger of Gentile Christian hijacking of Eschatology
        1. How great the harm of wrong theology concerning YHWH’s story
      4. The danger in becoming a part of the disciplinary tool towards Israel
        1. Isaiah 10:5-27; Zephaniah 3:8
      5. The hope of standing firm as the gentile remnant at the end of the age
        1. Examples from Torah and Holocaust

WHAT IS TORAH'S INSTRUCTION REGARDING THE CRISIS, OR "END TIMES?"

      1. Torah instructs us that God created ethnicity, Jew and Gentile, in His wisdom as part of His redemptive plan for Man. One is chosen, and one is rejected. The rejected lineage (gentiles) are to subject themselves to the chosen lineage (Jews).
      2. The rejected lineage in their pride does not want to subject themselves to YHWH’s wisdom in election, therefore they hate His holy covenant and make themselves contrary to it.
      3. The chosen lineage also does not desire to subject themselves to YHWH’s wisdom and commandments, so they reject Him and turn to idolatry. The sun, moon, stars, and earth are supposed to give witness to the covenant people when they are “corrupting themselves.”
      4. When His covenant people are reaching the climax of their apostasy within the covenant, YHWH must arise in the final judgment, creating the final covenant crisis against Israel, in order to vindicate His name in the sight of the gentiles. But, a humble remnant will be preserved through the crisis because of unfailing love towards Abraham.
      5. The gentile peoples reach their climax of their hatred of YHWH’s election, and go “too far” rising up to finally break the curse of being Shem’s servants, therefore, YHWH must arise to vindicate His name against the gentile nations because he chose Abraham and Israel. God in His mercy will also preserve a remnant among the gentiles who are humble.
      6. After these things happen, the Millennial reign of Jesus is the vehicle for the restoration of heaven, earth, man and God through the stewardship of Israel blessing the nations. Every jot and tittle of Torah, every word of the covenant will be fulfilled in literal time and space throughout the thousand-year reign. Even so. Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus.
