When we’re feeling like a bruised reed, when our wicks begin to smolder
Lord we know that You won’t snuff me out, You bear our names upon Your shoulders
So come into the tabernacle of our hearts, and do Your priestly work inside
Trim the lamps, light the flame, pour the oil of Your name, cause Your Word to come alive!
You, O Lord, You keep our lamps burning, O God You turn our darkness into light
Lord, You guard our steps, Lord You light our way, You take us by the hand, You lead us through the night
When this wicked age is wearing us down, when the devil shoots his arrows,
Lord we know Your Word will light our path, You’ll keep us on the straight and narrow
So come into the courtyard of our hearts, on Your altar place our lives,
Through the toil, through the sweat, through the tears, no regrets, make us a living sacrifice!
Pour out the oil of Your Spirit, come fill our lamps with light!
Until the hour the Bridegroom comes, to claim a spotless Bride!
